Believe it or not getting a six pack is possible when you put your mind to it. There are three things that can benefit you to achieve the rock hard abs of your dreams.
- The first approach to great abs is proper nutrition, I feel this is the most important of all three. No matter how awesome your abs are, if you have a layer of fat over them you will never get the results you are looking for. Most fitness individuals call it clean eating. This just means eating natural whole foods and the portion that you consume at each meal makes a difference as well. Check all labels and eat clean whenever possible, making sure to get in the right amount of protein for your body. I like to eat six small meals a day and of course a lot of H2O and as you know my water of choice is Penta Water.
- The next thing that needs to be a part of your ab routine is cardio. To see the best results of your abs make sure to have cardio as a part of your fitness routine. Do at least 30 minutes of cardio 4 to 5 times a week. If you want to see results faster go longer on your cardio or increase the amount of times you do cardio. Make sure to listen to your body, push when you can and hold back when you need to.
- The last area of course is abdominal exercises. I always recommend doing ab exercises that target all areas of the abdominals. Make sure to have awesome form as well as making the abs do the work not momentum. This means breathing while doing the exercises and focusing on the muscle you are working. It is easy to use momentum instead of the muscle that you are working. Here is a quick workout to get you started;
- Start with crunches while the knees are bent.
- Next work the obliques which hits the waist. Do moves that target this area.
- Then lastly reverse crunches to work what I like to call the baby area. So many ladies ask me how to work the lower abs. Reverse crunches are the best for this problem area.
Get abs in 2 to 3 times a week. It is important to fatique the muscle so you know that it was challenged. So the reps and the amount of abs you do depends on your fitness level. Do as many as you can while executing good form.
So get it going! How about thinking of getting that bathing suit on to motivate you to get your tummy tighter? You can do it!
